Original Mantelpiece· Loxton 5 Multi-fuel Stove · Slate Hearths

Preserving the original mantelpiece, a contemporary highly heat efficient stove replaced the old, tired cast-iron insert. The hardest part of this type of job is removing the insert without disturbing the mantelpiece. This keeps the cost of the job down with no refitting or decorating required.
When the original insert was removed, the intact brick work was exposed. Cleaning and pointing the internal brickwork enhanced the finished look, complementing the detail of the mantelpiece and adding a rustic charm to the finished look.
